  • The assignment is expected to last between 6 to 9 months and involves responsibilities such as repairing and servicing police vehicles, diagnosing faults, and conducting test drives.
  • Successful applicants will undergo police vetting clearance and employment checks before receiving a job offer.

Reed Secure are working with Police Forces who are looking to recruit experienced Vehicle Technician (IMI level 3)to maintain the Police Fleet by Inspecting and maintaining vehicles or Motorcycles.

  • Hourly rate - £16.71 PAYE (Plus opportunity of overtime)
  • Available Location – Basingstoke, Fareham, Winchester.
  • Hours – 37 Hours, Monday to Friday (08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 16:00 Friday)
  • Length of Assignment – 6-9 months

Key Responsibilities:

To repair & service police vehicles and equipment (vans, cars, generators or motorcycles in a timely manner.2. To identify maintenance requirements and preventative measures to ensure high fleet utilisation, during the course of service and repair procedures.3. To collect & deliver cars, vans or motorcycles when required.4. To investigate & diagnose faults using multi-Franchise equipment.5. To carry out test drives / rides in order to diagnose and assess vehicle suitability for road use.6. To carry out basic new vehicle / motorbike fit-out and testing ready for police use.7. To assist in Vehicle and motorcycle recoveries.8. To give regular and effective service.

Must hold a current full driving licence for Manuel gearbox cars(Category B) and be willing to undertake in-Force training to gain authorisation to useall types of motor vehicles used by the Constabulary.Motorcycle Technician must hold a full current driving licence for Manuel gearbox cars (Category B) and a full motorcycle licence (Category A) and be prepared to take and pass a Force driving course if required.
