Location: Tredegar
Salary: £12.11 per hour

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday,

We are looking for an experienced SMT Operator to join our client in Tredegar The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and maintaining SMT equipment, ensuring the efficient production of electronic assemblies. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Main job roles

  • Efficiently set up and run SMT machines, including automatic screen printers and in-line equipment, to meet targets.
  • Change components during the production cycle using appropriate tools
  • Perform accurate and efficient offline setups.
  • Read and follow manufacturing documentation.
  • Conduct quality checks in accordance with SMT assembly standards, preferably with IPC knowledge.
  • Identify discrepancies, rectify within the scope of the role, and report to the SMT team leader.
  • Complete production build documentation in line with ISO9001 quality procedures.
  • Component value and recognition
  • Perform basic weekly machine maintenance (desirable).
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned, in line with company requirements.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Use initiative in various tasks.

Required experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as an SMT Operator or similar role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
  • Basic computer skills to handle machine interfaces and documentation.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts if required
