HYGIENE OPERATIVE

PART TIME - 20 HOURS PER WEEK 

MONDAY - FRIDAY 6PM - 10PM 

ECCLES, MANCHESTER

£13 PER HOUR

Key Responsibilities;

  • Ensuring that machines are set up, ready for production and the shut down procedures are correctly followed prior to cleaning
  • Ensuring the lock-off procedure is followed when cleaning machinery
  • Ensuring all H&S measures are adopted i.e. PPE worn, correct chemical use and general awareness
  • Identifying basic mechanical faults (Assemblers) and to communicate with engineering department and Hygiene TL’s / Manager
  • Bagging Off Machinery
  • Cleaning as per the Hygiene Method and implementing the correct stages of cleaning i.e. Pre-clean, Rinse, Foam, Rinse, Disinfect
  • Using pressure hoses and other cleaning equipment for prolonged periods of time
  • Ensuring that Factory Hygiene Rules are adhered to, including personnel hygiene and jewellery policies
  • Adhering to the correct food handling procedures and avoiding contamination of foodstuffs when cleaning
  • Understanding and maintaining good hygiene practices (GHP).
  • Observing Site Health and Safety regulations as stated in the Health and Safety handbook
  • Organising work areas, ensuring that all tasks are performed in an efficient and effective manner, ensuring the highest levels of Health and Safety are followed at all times.

  • Be numerate, literate and must demonstrate logical thinking
  • Health – good visual and physical fitness levels

  • Ability to work in a team, willing to support others and to take initiative
  • Able to work night shifts
  • Proven ability to work within a hygiene team using cleaning chemicals and hygiene equipment
  • Ability to complete tasks on time to the highest of standards
  • Hardworking & Conscientious
  • Good attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Food Industry/ Factory standards and Health and Safety
  • Ideally possessing Basic Food Handling Certificate, Manual Handling
  • Training, Chemical and Health and Safety Training
  • Interest in basic mechanical principles
  • Knowledge of modern problem solving and fault diagnosis techniques
  • Willingness to maintain up to date knowledge and skill by attending training courses
