We are working with a primary school who are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Salford. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a challenging environment and is eager to make a difference in the lives of young people. This position is available for an immediate start!

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this PRU, you will be working with students who require additional support due to behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties. You will play a key role in supporting the teacher deliver a tailored curriculum that meets each student's individual needs, helping them to re-engage with education and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages positive behaviour and academic progress.
  • Work closely with a team of dedicated professionals, including teachers, to provide comprehensive support to each pupil.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to education.

Requirements:

  • Team-Teach trained.
  •  Previous experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Experience working in a PRU or with students with challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, resilient, and positive attitude.

  • Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one.
