About the Company

This medium-sized construction contractor is renowned for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. With a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and client satisfaction, the company is expanding its team and looking for a proactive Health and Safety Assistant.

The role is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, and is a full-time office position with no scope for remote or hybrid work.

Role & ResponsibilitiesThe Health and Safety Assistant will be central to operations, ensuring projects run smoothly and safely. You will work closely with the senior management team and oversee projects from tender to delivery.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, reviewing, and updating Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive site manuals, maintaining work progress spreadsheets
  • Providing support with tenders and quotations, managing and producing key reporting documents such as project plans, risk registers, and change requests, producing detailed Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals
  • Supporting project coordinators, managers, and directors in planning and administration
  • Conducting occasional site visits across the UK for compliance checks.

Candidate Expectations:

  • Experience producing RAMS and O&M manuals
  • Work experience in construction or similar fields such as rail or infrastructure projects
  • Valid UK right to work
  • Valid UK driving licence for occasional site travel
