Our client is looking for a Warehouse Manager to run and play a pivotal part within their small warehouse team. 'Hands on' is the approach they are looking for, as well as ensuring the team are managed and warehouse operations run smoothly, optimising productivity, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:Warehouse Operations:
  • Manage daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Ensure the warehouse operates within safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Inventory & Stock Control:
  • Oversee stock levels and ensure accurate inventory management through audits and cycle counts.
  • Implement inventory control procedures to minimise shrinkage and discrepancies.
  • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to manage stock replenishment.
Team Management:
  • Lead, train, and motivate a small team of warehouse staff, ensuring high performance and morale.
  • Plan and oversee staff schedules, workload distribution, and task delegation.
Logistics & Distribution:
  • Coordinate with transport providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Optimise warehouse layout to enhance efficiency in goods movement and space utilisation.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring quality control standards are met.
Compliance & Safety:
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety guidelines and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols to prevent workplace accidents.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
  • Analyse key warehouse metrics (e.g., order accuracy, lead times, stock turnover) and report to management.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions for warehouse optimisation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in warehouse management.
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
  • Proficiency in logistics, supply chain, and inventory management principles.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role
  • Forklift certification (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with warehouse automation and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
