An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teaching Assistant with experience in a school or similar educational setting to join a well-established special school supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This full-time role offers excellent benefits and a salary of £19,500for 38 hours work week.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to pupils, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their potential. They are looking for 2 Teaching Assistants.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting teachers and SENCo to enhance pupil learning and achievement.
  • Encouraging pupil participation in lessons and extracurricular activities.
  • Implementing effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
  • Organising and maintaining a safe, stimulating learning environment.
  • Observing and reporting on pupil progress to relevant staff.
  • Using ICT to support and advance pupil learning.

What we are looking for:

  • Previously worked as a SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Special Needs Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience in a school or similar educational setting.
  • Background working with children or young people, especially those with additional needs (SEND, behavioural, or mental health).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications, with at least a Grade C in English and Maths.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
