About the Role:As a General Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers, helping to create a positive and effective learning environment. You will support students both academically and emotionally, providing 1:1 assistance, small group work, and general classroom support. Your role will vary based on the needs of the school, ensuring every child has the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons
- Support students with varying learning needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Prepare classroom resources and help set up activities
- Supervise students during breaks and lunchtimes
- Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, positive learning environment
- Promote the social, emotional, and intellectual development of the students
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a school setting is desirable, but not essential
- A passion for working with children and helping them succeed
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to different learning styles
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Teaching Assistant Certificate) are beneficial but not required
