This independent SEN school supports students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties. With an inviting environment, this school has approximately 130 students aged 3-11 and a fantastic group of supportive staff members. Key Responsibilities of a Health Care Assistant within an SEN School
- Provide compassionate personal care and support to students, ensuring their comfort and dignity
- Assist with manual handling and the use of hoists as needed
- Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment
- Prepare the classroom and resources in advance of the school day
- Work with children on a 1:1 basis as well as in small group settings to enhance their learning experience
- Maintain open communication with parents, reporting on student's progress and well being
- Engage in multi-sensory teaching approaches, focusing on touch, smell, sound, and visual stimuli to meet the diverse needs of our students
- Supporting students with meal times
- Administering medications
