Are you a compassionate and skilled educator with a passion for supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)? We are seeking a dedicated PMLD Teacher to join our specialist team in Edgware, creating an inclusive and nurturing environment where every learner can thrive.

About the PMLD Teaching Role:As a PMLD Teacher, you will deliver bespoke learning programmes tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure the educational, emotional, and physical development of learners, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of a PMLD Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver highly personalised lessons, incorporating sensory and therapeutic approaches.
  • Use a range of communication methods, including Makaton, PECS, or AAC, to engage and support students.
  • Monitor and assess progress, maintaining detailed records and adjusting plans to meet individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and families to provide a holistic approach to education.
  • Promote independence, life skills, and self-confidence in students.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

About YouThe successful PMLD Teaching candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or similar complex needs.
  • Knowledge of strategies and resources for supporting students with sensory and physical disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • A strong commitment to promoting inclusivity and celebrating diversity.
  • Resilience and creativity in adapting to the unique challenges of working with PMLD students.
