A supportive and welcoming secondary school in Barnet, North London, are looking for a Science and Maths TA for a ASAP start. As a Science and Maths TA, you will be supporting secondary aged (11-16) students throughout the school day. You will predominantly be based in the Science and Maths departments, supporting students of mixed age and ability. As a Science and Maths teaching assistant, you will be supporting both the staff and students. You may be supporting students more generally within the classroom, or working on a 1-1/small group basis with students who need targeted support. Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a STEM based subject
  • Interest in working with children (specifically with SEN)
  • Experience working with secondary school children (age 11-16) in some capacity (desirable but not essential)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Either have or be willing to get an enhanced DBS on the update service, plus provide two references

Responsibilities:

Exact responsibilities will depend on role but may include:

  • Working with children aged 11-16 operating classes in various subjects.
  • Helping children with special educational needs
  • Engaging with students for 4-5 periods
  • Treating children with respect and kindness
