I am actively looking for a Hard Working, Passionate and Reliable Post 16 SEN Support Worker to work in a SEN college for pupils who have complex needs and severe to profound multiple learning difficulties. This is a full-time classroom-based role and is to start in September.

As a successful Post 16 SEN Learning Support Worker, you are required to be an engaging and resilient support assistant who is able to set clear boundaries, work with them in and out of class, and provide personal/intimate care. This Post 16 SEN Learning Support Worker role is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring SEN educators or those looking to expand their experience in special education in a supportive and friendly team environment. Previous experience in working with young people with ASD. A positive role model with Mentoring/teaching background with an understanding of Therapeutic Education.

Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships and provide a nurturing relationship but with strong boundaries.

Many of the students will communicate non-verbally, so being able to use Makaton or PECs will be ideal. As a Post 16 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with other staff members and a multidisciplinary therapy team. Recent experience and a genuine passion for working with SEN pupils are essential. All applicants will need to hold a current enhanced DBS and be fully compliant to work in the UK.
