TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mixed, comprehensive, 11-18 High School in Croydon to recruit an experienced SEN Teacher for a maternity cover to start in April 2025. The school provides high standards of education and has been awarded a Good OFSTED rating. The school fosters an environment where every individual is valued and where they promote the learning and development of all our pupils.
Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher:
- Teach students up to Key Stage 4, with lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Supporting and identifying pupils with physical, emotional, behavioural or learning difficulties
- Develop Lesson plans / schemes of work and other materials
- Working closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to ensure best provision for SEN pupils
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to students, parents, and colleagues.
The successful SEN Teacher will have:
- QTS with SEN specialism
- Ability to plan and deliver high quality, engaging lessons.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, parents and students.
