Your new companyWe are working with a public sector organisation who are looking to employ a committed and meticulous Management Accountant to join their vibrant finance team. This position offers a hybrid working setup, allowing you to balance office and remote work. As a Management Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing financial operations and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee financial reporting and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Supervise and mentor a junior team member, providing guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and provide financial insights.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
  • Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide study support to junior team members, fostering their professional development.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in management accounting or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
