The CompanyAble Bridge Recruitment are delighted to be working with a not for profit organisation in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre in the recruitment of a part time management accountant on a permanent basis.

The role will be office based 1 day per week and from home the other 2 days. Our client is flexible in regards to the days worked and would also consider applicants who are wanting to work shorter hours over more days.

The role is the result of a reorganisation and is for all in tense and purposes a newly created position. Reporting into the head of finance you will form part of a small accounting function.

The Responsibilities The purpose of this role is to support the head of finance in operational finance matters. You will assist the business with fundamental accounting duties such as balance sheet reconciliation`s, cost centre management (for well over 40 separate business lines), budgets/forecasts and general ledger maintenance.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following; Responsible for completion of monthly management accounts for review,Assist in the production of statutory accounts.Support the head of finance in relation to maintenance of accruals/prepayments.Review of cost centre reports and correct any inaccurate GL postings.Work closely with the head of finance in providing the business with decision supporting documentation/financial reports.Provide cover to the department during times of absenteeism in areas like sales and purchase ledger.Maintain sales ledger and general grant based revenue streams.

The Requirements Ideally you will be a fully qualified accountant, however our client has muted that they would consider an applicant who is qualified by experience. Ideally applicants would have come from a charity based finance career or somebody who has experience of auditing the accounts of a charity (from within the UK). Our client has a high degree of complexity regarding income and expenditure and as such we are seeking a technically solid accountant. The team is relatively small for the financial turnover so we are looking for personality attributes which include a collaborative working mindset, an attitude that you would be happy to stand in for any colleague, professionalism and the ability to juggle multiple tasks/priorities at any one time.
