Responsibilities:

As the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising the work of the bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial record-keeping
  • Preparing comprehensive monthly management accounts using Sage, including detailed reports and analyses for directors
  • Compiling and preparing annual accounts for review and presentation to directors, external accountants, and auditors
  • Managing and submitting accurate quarterly VAT returns in a timely manner
  • Assisting management with cash flow monitoring, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed
  • Generating and presenting various financial reports and data to aid in decision-making
  • Advising directors on recommending and implementing new controls and procedures to enhance financial efficiency and governance
  • Performing other related duties to support the company's financial objectives and strategic goals

Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ICAS, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles and practises
  • Proficiency in Sage and MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
