Job Purpose
  • High level oversight of a tax portfolio, monitoring all commercial aspects of portfolio management
  • Lead strategic corporate tax planning, compliance and advisory services
  • Allocate work and ensuring teams are ready and able to deliver in line with client expectations and agreed service levels
  • Review computations prepared by junior members of the tax team
  • Navigate complex tax issue related to mergers, acquisitions and restructuring
  • Build trusted client relationships, handling queries and problem solving
  • Work with fellow department Directors, such as audit to ensure a joined-up service approach
  • Keep up-to-date with tax knowledge, championing knowledge sharing across the team
  • Delegate work to and managing junior staff, overseeing workflow and quality control
  • Drive business development for the tax function and wider firm
  • Stay ahead of changes in tax laws and regulations

Job Requirements
  • CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified
  • Qualified by extensive experience within practice also considered
  • Proven track record of managing a portfolio and working across taxation
  • Thorough understanding of corporate tax and UK corporate tax issues
  • Supervisory experience with excellent people management skills
  • Able to provide strategic oversight to a thriving tax team
