Assistant Accountant

Robert Half are working on a fantastic opportunity for an assistant accountant to join a highly supportive and hard working team in Edinburgh.

This opportunity has become available within the team due to the workload increasing along with the fact the business is thriving and needing additional support within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation daily, weekly, monthly Group KPI and Management reporting
• Preparation and processing of weekly sales, VAT, and cash book journals
• Monthly analysis and reconciliation of Gross Profit / Cost of Sales for management accounts reporting
• Monthly review and reconciliation of stock movements, margin, and provisions
• Preparation and processing of month-end prepayments and accruals
• Review and processing of monthly invoices and journals
• Reconciliation of Group balances at period end
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Investigation of outstanding stock movements
• Data analysis and preparation of management information
• Assistance with preparation of budgets and forecasts

Candidate Specification

• Experience working within a finance function in an SME environment
• Part-qualified and studying towards a finance qualification
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Great communication skills and ability to work with a team
• Data analysis / reporting experience desirable
• Finance systems skills
