Assistant Accountant

Three Bridges Recruitment is currently partnering with a global organisation, a leader in its field, to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 6-month fixed term contract. The role could be suitable for somebody currently operating at Assistant Accountant level, or an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to progress. The role is offered on a hybrid basis (primarily remote with occasional travel to the Edinburgh office).

Job

The role of Assistant Accountant will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

• Support the full project accounting process, including account reconciliation, validation of Construction in Progress, accrual calculations, and project closure.
• Review and analyse total project costs, making necessary adjustments between capital and expense to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Build strong relationships with project managers to gain a thorough understanding of project scope and status, applying this insight to accounting decisions.
• Prepare monthly journal entries involving calculations of low to moderate complexity.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations with a low to moderate level of complexity.
• Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and compliance requirements.

You

As an Assistant Accountant you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance, ideally involving fixed asset management.
• Proficiency in SAP is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Competency in Microsoft Excel.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
