- Perform daily accounting activities, including processing cash receipts and payments and reconciling accounts.
- Analyze ledger balances, identify anomalies, and investigate and resolve issues.
- Prepare and issue trial balances, highlighting and resolving any discrepancies.
- Monitor and maintain financial controls to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Contribute to and participate in projects to improve financial processes and systems.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support team members in their learning and development.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and industry best practices, including Consumer Duty.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Experience in the Life & Pensions industry (desirable but not essential)
- Qualified by experience / Qualified or working towards ACCA/CIMA
