The RoleWe are working with our client, one of the UK's leading Pensions and Investment firms to grow their Finance Operations team, and we're looking for ambitious individuals keen to grow their career in financial services.  We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Assistant to join their Finance Operations team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our clients' financial transactions. Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily accounting activities, including processing cash receipts and payments and reconciling accounts.
  • Analyze ledger balances, identify anomalies, and investigate and resolve issues.
  • Prepare and issue trial balances, highlighting and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Monitor and maintain financial controls to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Contribute to and participate in projects to improve financial processes and systems.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support team members in their learning and development.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and industry best practices, including Consumer Duty.
Essential Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven experience in accounting and bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience in the Life & Pensions industry (desirable but not essential)
  • Qualified by experience / Qualified or working towards ACCA/CIMA
