SRG are delighted to be working with an innovative early stage Scottish biotechnology company who are looking for a highly experienced plant transformation scientist to join and lead their plant science R&D team.

The company are developing, manufacturing and selling plant-based nutraceuticals & skincare products which have been proven to improve quality of life across a variety of conditions

The Role

As a senior plant transformation scientist you will have varying responsibilities, both technical and people management focussed. In the lab you will be responsible for process establishment & development of the plant transformation protocol, as well as carrying out various plant transformations and plant tissue cultures. You will assist in establishing the plant transformation team, and will continue to lead the team assisting with any potential lab based issues, developing SOPs as well as being involved with plant sourcing, growth and propagation.

The right candidate

  • Educated to MSc level or above in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Experience in an industrial plant transformation environment
  • Prior demonstrable experience designing plant transformation experiments & protocols
  • Prior leadership experience
