Job Role: Senior Business AnalystLocation: Hybrid working - Edinburgh (EH7 5AU)Hours: 37 hours per weekContract: ASAP start - 6 months (possible extension)Rate: £400 per dayIR35 Status: Outside IR35Basic Disclosure: Required (cost of £25 to the candidate)We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a dynamic team to drive forward automation opportunities and improve business processes. This role is key in identifying, analysing, and delivering solutions that create operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance customer experiences.Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse opportunities identified by the automation team, focusing on capacity release and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to uncover new automation opportunities.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments and define potential value for prioritisation.
  • Work with product and technical teams to establish a roadmap for automation in 2025-26.
  • Build and maintain a backlog of opportunities and experiments, supported by analysis and data.
  • Document decisions, assumptions, and maintain an audit trail.
  • Verify automated outputs with business stakeholders and support transition points.
  • Identify new process and customer opportunities, and support business leaders in delivering effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with business change teams to address adoption challenges.
  • Actively participate in governance forums, such as the Technical Design Authority.
  • Provide coaching and upskilling support to junior staff members.
  • Represent the organisation in digital supplier engagements and relevant forums.
  • Act as a proxy Product Owner when required.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Agile working, including managing outcomes, prioritisation, and MVP delivery.
  • Expertise in business analysis, including investigative work, solution creation, and service improvement recommendations.
  • Ability to optimise processes using business improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced business modelling skills, gathering insights from senior stakeholders and communicating results clearly.
  • Proficiency in business process testing and creating test cases with traceability back to requirements.
  • Strong digital perspective to identify and implement assisted digital solutions.
  • Understanding of enterprise and business architecture to support target operating model creation.
  • Experience in innovation leadership and enabling innovation within teams.
  • Knowledge of the appropriate methods and tools to support teams effectively.
  • Expertise in requirements definition and management, including setting business priorities and leading scope changes.
  • Strong relationship management skills to build strategic relationships and influence stakeholders.
  • A strong user focus, working with researchers to prioritise and define user needs.
