Pertemps are working with our public sector client to recruit for Janitorial (Facilities Technician) Supervisors on a temporary basis in Edinburgh.

Role - Janitorial (Facilities Technician) Supervisor
Location - Leith or Portobello
Hours - rotational shift pattern (as below)
Duration - Until end of March 2025 (with possible extension)
Pay rate - 14.93 per hour
Start date - asap

Shift pattern:
  • Week 1 - Mon - Fri - (Apply online only)
  • Week 2 - Mon - Fri - (Apply online only)


The successful candidate will be working as part of an established team and will have their own dedicated locations to manage. You will be looking after a variety of operational buildings, including schools, community centres and offices. You will be carrying out, but not be limited to:
  • Supervising Facilities Technicians on a day to day basis and allocate work duties
  • Provide cover for sickness or holidays
  • Carry out inductions and training as required
  • Carry out monitoring inspections
  • Ensure tasks are carried out to a high standard
  • Provide general porterage duties as required
  • Ensuring procedures are followed
  • Ensuring temperature levels are maintained throughout the premises
  • Monitor the condition of maintenance aspects within the premises
  • Ordering supplies as required
  • Liaising with internal / external stakeholders
  • Carryout winter clearance activities as required
  • Escalate any issues to the Team Leader
  • Any other tasks as required


You should have a proven track record in a similar supervisory role, have excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally, have strong IT skills and be flexible in your approach. You must have knowledge of health & safety. A driving licence is desirable.


The successful candidate will be required to obtain a PVG at a cost of 59 for a new application (18 for an update).
