Their team of highly-qualified engineershave experience in all aspects of building services engineering.Their clients operate throughout every relevant sector, including residential,commercial, industrial, education, defence, and more.TheirBuilding Performance team are seeking experienced Building PerformanceEngineer to join their expanding team. You will be expected to runyour own projects, working through the RIBA stages as well as working as partof a larger team. Your new role

You'll play a key part at the forefront of the building performance team and will be expected to lead projects and mentor junior team members.Your keyresponsibilities will include:

  • Lead all building performance aspects of projects
  • Develop and implement innovative, sustainable design strategies to optimise building performance.
  • Conduct detailed energy performance assessments, including Part L compliance, TM54 operational energy analysis, and BREEAM evaluations.
  • Provide expert advice on building envelope performance, natural ventilation, and indoor air quality.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to seamlessly integrate building performance solutions into MEP designs.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in building performance and sustainability.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Building Performance, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards Chartership with a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE).
  • Must have excellent knowledge and capabilities in Operational Energy.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in building performance engineering, ideally within an MEP consultancy environment.
  • Proficiency in thermal modelling software (e.g., IES VE, TAS, Design Builder) and other relevant analytical tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and sustainability certification schemes (e.g., BREEAM, LEED, WELL).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and a strong track record of successful project delivery.
