We are currently looking for Civil / Structural Engineering Technician to join our client's expanding team in Edinburgh. Ideally applicants should have a HNC / HND in Civil Engineering, with a minimum of 2 years' recent and current experience in infrastructure and / or structural design.

Core responsibilities

  • Effective and efficient operator of AutoCAD. Revit experience would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Having or working towards Engineering Technician status or equivalent through a recognised professional institution
  • A good general knowledge of building construction.
  • Producing neat and readable technical drawings on a wide array of construction and engineering projects
  • Detailed designs and production of reports
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Accurately interpreting engineers mark ups and drawings
  • Liaising effectively with the design team

Skills, experience, and qualifications

  • Qualification in a relevant technical subject including elements of CAD/Drafting (HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Numerate with a focus on problem solving.
  • Some design ability with an application of engineering principles
  • Experience of working on timber structures would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Commercial awareness in dealings with clients, proposals, and projects.
