Job Opportunity: CNC Machinist & Mentor – Heavy Metal Engineering

Location: Edinburgh
Contract: 37-hour week (rotating shift pattern)
Overtime: Available at enhanced rates

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with proven experience in the heavy metal industry to join our team at a major manufacturing company that has nearly doubled its workforce in recent years. This role offers an exciting opportunity to not only work on cutting-edge machinery but also to mentor and train less experienced colleagues.

As a key player, you will oversee shift operations, train team members, and ensure products are made to high standards. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about developing others, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a range of equipment, including Semi-Automatic Bandsaws, CNC Drills, Hydraulic Presses, and 3 Axis Milling Machines
  • Set and operate CNC Milling Machines to precise specifications
  • Plan, program, and inspect products for accuracy and quality
  • Produce components to meet key industry standards
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff
  • Rotate between days, lates, and nights in line with our shift pattern

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in the heavy metal engineering sector
  • Ability to operate and set CNC machinery and other shop floor equipment
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and train colleagues
  • Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern
