Job Opportunity: CNC Machinist & Mentor – Heavy Metal Engineering
Location: Edinburgh
Contract: 37-hour week (rotating shift pattern)
Overtime: Available at enhanced rates
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with proven experience in the heavy metal industry to join our team at a major manufacturing company that has nearly doubled its workforce in recent years. This role offers an exciting opportunity to not only work on cutting-edge machinery but also to mentor and train less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a range of equipment, including Semi-Automatic Bandsaws, CNC Drills, Hydraulic Presses, and 3 Axis Milling Machines
- Set and operate CNC Milling Machines to precise specifications
- Plan, program, and inspect products for accuracy and quality
- Produce components to meet key industry standards
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff
- Rotate between days, lates, and nights in line with our shift pattern
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience in the heavy metal engineering sector
- Ability to operate and set CNC machinery and other shop floor equipment
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and train colleagues
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern
