Building Services Engineer

Nine Twenty are proud to be working with one of Scotland’s premier multi-purpose venues to find a Building Services Engineer to join their team in Edinburgh. The primary function of this role is to ensure that buildings are maintained to provide a safe, comfortable and efficient environment for staff and clients. You will be assisting in ensuring that mechanical and electrical systems within the buildings are running effectively.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the plant and equipment within the building to the highest standard in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Be proactive in maintaining the fabric/appearance of the building to internationally recognised standards.
  • Ensure that building maintenance and repair works are proactively undertaken to the required quality standard.
  • Assist Facilities Co-ordinator with the operation and monitoring of all equipment and facilities including arranging repair, maintenance and/or replacement.
  • Assist in the planned building maintenance programme of the mechanical systems.
  • Assist the Facilities Co-ordinator in monitoring the work and conduct of all casual maintenance staff, engineers, contractors and others whilst in the facility to ensure they conform to current H&S regulations concerning safe working practices.
  • Inspect and compile reports as requested on condition, operation and running costs of plant and machinery.
  • Attend and participate in communication activities and/or teamwork.
  • Contribute to departmental objectives.
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping

 

Requirements

  • Knowledge of building management systems.
  • Hold a minimum of HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • 17th Edition /18th Edition trained.
  • Experience with providing a high level of customer service and client management.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects at the same time.
  • Team player.
  • Flexible with their time to meet the business and clients' needs.
