A renowned construction consultancy in Scotland is seeking a skilled CDM Principal Designer to join their team in Edinburgh. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations 2015 and promoting the highest standards of health & safety across diverse projects.
The Principal Designer's Role
- The successful CDM Principal Designer will play a critical role in managing design risks and ensuring that projects adhere to safety regulations.
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating design risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensuring all projects comply with CDM 2015 regulations and other relevant health and safety standards.
- Providing expert advice to clients, contractors, and design teams on CDM compliance and safety best practices.
- Preparing and reviewing essential health and safety documents, including pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
- Working closely with project teams to integrate safety considerations from the design phase through to project completion.
The Successful Principal Designer
- Significant experience in a Principal Designer role within the construction industry.
- Relevant industry qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate, APS membership, or equivalent.
- Comprehensive understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and current health and safety legislation.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset to ensure effective safety management in all projects.
