Role Outline:

Drafting electrical schematics and writing control philosophies to support how hardware design ties in with the software. This is with a focus on Hydrogen projects in ATEX environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drafting electrical schematics and writing control philosophies to support how hardware design ties in with the software.
  • Understand instrumentation and hardware specifications and be able to liaise closely with the Control Systems Engineer.
  • Understand ATEX environments and zones to specify appropriate electrical equipment, in accordance with IEC 60079.

Essential Skills:

  • Electrical design and hardware specification knowledge.
  • EPLAN experience.
  • ATEX environments experience - CompEx Ex12 qualification stands out.
  • Self-starter - can take minimal information, find out the facts and take the project forward.
  • Process industry experience - Hydrogen preferred. Nuclear, gas, downstream oil & gas, or water industry experience could also transfer.
  • Desirable - Controls Systems programming knowledge - mainly using Siemens TIA Portal.
