Qualifications and Skills
- Recognised trade qualifications at City & Guilds standards or higher.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical generator components.
- Supervisory experience with excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with UK health and safety legislation, including risk assessments and environmental practices.
Desirable:
- Experience in remote or challenging environments.
- Product knowledge of Caterpillar, FG Wilson, Perkins generators, and Woodward control systems.
- Proficiency in load bank testing and engine diagnostic tools (e.g., Perkins EST, CAT ET).
- Electrical qualification aligned with 18th Edition IEE regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and servicing of generators within agreed timeframes.
- Conduct planned and reactive repairs on generators and fuel systems.
- Promote and ensure high mechanical hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe work systems.
- Manage material orders and deliver toolbox talks and task-specific instructions.
