Job Title: Mechanical Technician Engineer

Location: Edinburgh.

Salary: 28,000 - 32,000 per annum.

A leading company specialising in providing high-quality maintenance and repair services across various sectors, including industrial, medical, and process industries is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Technician Engineer to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing and maintaining large industrial units such as dual-fired boilers, heating, and ventilation distribution equipment.
  • Developing and executing Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules and addressing Reactive Maintenance needs.
  • Interpreting P&ID's, schematics, maintenance manuals, and testing mechanical systems to locate defective parts.
  • Undertaking fault-finding on complex medical gas systems, MTHW/LTHW pressure heating water systems.
  • Using case effect analysis and conducting detailed examinations to provide solutions, utilizing relevant drawings and maps.
  • Completing all required report sheets and test certificates accurately and promptly.
  • Utilising analytical test devices, specialist tools, and equipment such as welding equipment, emergency generators, and medical gas equipment (for patient use).
  • Performing work on geared drives and suction units in industrial settings.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • A time-served mechanical apprenticeship (C&G or SVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in the steel, process industry, or on oil rigs is highly desirable.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and experience in diagnosing and solving complex mechanical issues.
  • Experience working in a client-facing environment with excellent communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and effectively collaborate across departments.
  • Strong IT and math skills.
  • Basic DBS certificate (or willingness to undergo one).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • First Aid qualification (desirable).
  • Experience with medical gas systems and critical equipment is a plus.
