World-class Technology company with offices globally are looking for a couple of skilled Senior Software Engineers with good experience using C++ (bonus points for prior Java skills) to join one of their product squads in Edinburgh.
They've been operating very successfully now for several decades and are considered market leaders in their field. They have several products that are used worldwide - they mainly specialise in offshore exploration.
Their Edinburgh technical function currently sits at roughly thirty strong, and they've went through a period of growth the past few years. They're currently looking for a couple of additional Software Engineers for one of their established product function squads - you'd find yourself working alongside roughly four Software Engineers, Scrum Master and Line Manager.
You'll be helping the team to improve, expand and customise their market-leading product for their extensive global client-base. Additionally, they're always looking at new and innovative ideas for different projects - that you'll be involved in.
You'll ideally have experience with the most of the following;
** Several years of programming with C++
** Working with Databases (ideally PostgreSQL)
** Developing desktop applications for Windows
** Some prior experience / understanding of Java
Experience with the following is highly desirable;
** Cloud Services (ideally Azure)
** Automated Testing
They've got a great culture here, in a recent employee survey two of the most common topics reported were; the project work is really interesting, and the staff culture is great. It's probably no surprise then that their retention rate is incredibly high, with the average tenure of Engineers is currently 12 years - however they've got several team members that have far exceeded this.
They're based in central Edinburgh, and are able to offer hybrid working or largely remote - they'd prefer people to pop in when needed (1-2-1's, SPRINTs, Project planning etc). So you'll ideally be based in commutable distance to Edinburgh.
In return they're able to offer a salary of 50k to 60k (may be some flex here), dependent on experience and fit + a good benefits package to match.
