The role – IT Security Specialist

The salary - £40,000 - £50,000

The location – Edinburgh or Glasgow

I’m working with a fantastic organisation as they look to add a new IT Security Specialist to their team, specialising in network and server security. The successful candidate will join an excellent team as they look to design and manage cutting-edge security solutions across both on-prem and cloud environments.

Your day-to-day:

  • Design, implement and manage security solutions across the organisation.
  • Troubleshoot complex security issues to agreed timelines.
  • Work on the organisations roadmap to developing a scalable and reliable high security solution for an Azure cloud environment.
  • Develop, execute and track the performance of the organisations security measures to ensure the protection of network infrastructure.
  • Work alongside the organisations SOC to troubleshoot incidents.
  • Identify ways to improve processes while implementing new security tools to further enhance infrastructure security.
  • Support with security and GDPR training programs for colleagues to ensure best practices are being followed across the organisation.
  • Support the wider IT team.

About you:

  • Strong experience of best practice security for small and medium sized companies.
  • Experience across a range of network and server technologies.
  • Experience in designing and implementing cloud-based security, particularly with Azure.
  • Strong security troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with vulnerability management.
  • CISSP or CISM certifications would be desirable.
