Senior Pension Scheme Events Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Pension Scheme Events Analyst to support our pension scheme administration service.

This role is specifically intended to support the operational teams in delivering scheme events alongside business-as-usual operations. You will be part of the scheme events team and will be responsible for managing, processing and checking key annual and periodic pension scheme events across our portfolio of clients.

You will be required to simultaneously deliver a number of different technical scheme-level events for clients. Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands are therefore essential. Whilst some knowledge of project management tools is advantageous it is not essential for this role. Previous experience of processing and checking technical scheme-level events is our primary requirement.

The types of scheme events you will be asked to work on will include: pension increase exercises; annual Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution renewals and benefit statements; Pension Savings Statements, Scheme-specific data reports; valuation data provision; contribution and lifestyling cycles.

The work is extremely varied, and you will be supported by an experienced and knowledgeable team. You will be expected to adapt quickly and to spend your time processing and checking a mix of scheme events prioritised by their delivery dates and operational importance.

Reporting to the Scheme Events team leader you will be expected to work independently. Whilst the role does not have any direct management responsibilities you will be expected to work alongside the operational teams and manage any resources allocated to you for the delivery of your scheme events. This could include systems analysts, administrators or third-party suppliers.

We are firstly looking for a technical administration specialist rather than someone from a project or client management background. You will be working on a range of scheme events that will require strong technical skills and a good understanding of pension legislation. You will be expected to deliver scheme events rather than manage resources and we are therefore looking for someone with experience of delivering scheme events rather than managing projects. Ideally you will have experience in working in a similar role or will have a strong technical background in pensions administration and are looking for a scheme level role and a new challenge.

This role can be based in one of our city centre offices in Croydon, Reading, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow or Edinburgh with a hybrid workstyle.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Prioritising and managing competing scheme events to ensure delivery in accordance with client Service Level Agreements.
  • Processing scheme events within targets ensuring they comply with internal standards and scheme and legislative rules.
  • Peer reviewing and checking scheme events processed by other team members to ensure they comply with the scheme rules and legislation.
  • Producing bulk statements and mailings, preparing and analysing data and producing reports.
  • Maintain a culture which reflects Isio’s values and puts the member at the heart of all activities.
  • Attendance of Trustee or client meetings.
  • Attending internal and external meetings to provide support and guidance on scheme events.
  • Keeping up to date with technical and scheme changes.
  • Identifying and recording non-core fee events.
  • Liaising with contacts to maintain and build strong client relationships.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering administration services to Defined Benefit pension schemes.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple events and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical pensions and legislative knowledge and understanding.
  • A high level of mathematical competency and experience in data collation and manipulation using complex excel functions.
  • Experience of working in a third-party administration environment.
  • Strong MS office skills.

Desirable

  • PMI DPA, CPC or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience of Profund oPen 2.
