LHH is delighted to be supporting our client, Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans, to appoint a Campaigns and External Affairs Officer.
The impact of vision loss is huge. But with the right support, people with vision loss can gain the skills to remain independent and active in their communities - to thrive. That's why we're here.
For 230 years, Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans has been supporting people impacted by vision loss. We believe we play an important role in continually shifting the conversation around sight loss, and contributing to achieving a fair, equitable society. Over the years, we've seen a positive shift in expectations, with individuals and communities increasingly empowered to live lives the way they choose, free of discrimination.
The Campaigns and External Affairs Officer is responsible for translating policy positions into impactful campaigns that inspire the public and politicians across Scotland to support the charities' cause and political calls to action. This role is responsible for building up our online campaign network and designing inspiring petitions and letter writing campaigns as well as writing and producing a variety of communications, events and profile-raising opportunities to support our policy and campaign goals. The role supports the organisation's purpose to make a significant impact on the lives of people living with visual impairment in Scotland by maximising reach and profile to ensure their voice is amplified through effective policy and campaigns.
This role requires an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to craft persuasive messages and be comfortable engaging with employees and volunteers at all levels. You will be able to demonstrate prior experience campaign development and execution with a political focus, as well as experience with digital campaigning tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and online petitions. You will be highly organised and showcase your ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, as well as being able to analyse and interpret data.
