Clean Water Modellers

Glasgow or Edinburgh (Hybrid)

With work on various water frameworks, our client has a need for Clean Water Modellers at either Modeller or Senior Modeller level to lead and assist in modelling, calibration and analytical support on a range of clean water projects. As a modeller, you will be aware of the expectations of the role.

Roles can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow and are hybrid with an expectation of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. Above all, please note the requirement for water industry experience!

What do we need from you? (level dependant)

  • Preferably degree qualified in a relevant technical subject. Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage. Experience in water modelling using InfoWorks WS, Synergi Water or similar.
  • You will be expected to have proficiency in MS 365 applications and have knowledge in key areas such as advanced Excel and Visual Basic.
  • Working knowledge of GIS Systems (preferably MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Deep expertise in hydraulic modelling and/or related water infrastructure areas, taking responsibility for delivery of specialist, complex or innovative projects, ensuring client standard and specification compliance.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage staff at all levels, including line management of less experienced colleagues, improve organisational effectiveness and a culture of continuous improvement Ability to build, lead and motivate a team both internally and in partnership with external clients, and provide technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Ability to manage (or support project managers to manage) small to large modelling projects/packages and programmes of work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, self-disciplined and having the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Chartered membership (or working towards with demonstratable experience) of relevant professional institutions (CIWEM, IOW, ICE or equivalent) would be an advantage.
  • Hold a full clean driving licence
