Position: Business Support Statutory Minute Taker
Hours: 36 per week
Pay Rate: 13.48 per hour
Contract Length: 3 months initially with possible extension
Location: Edinburgh, Leith area (hybrid working available after training)

Role Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Business Support Statutory Minute Taker to join our team in Edinburgh. This role involves providing comprehensive business support for statutory meetings, both online via Microsoft Teams and in-person.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Support: Deliver consistent and reliable business support via telephone, face-to-face, email, and online channels.
  • Meeting Facilitation: Proactively facilitate and organise statutory meetings including Child/Adult Protection Case Conferences, Fostering and Adoption Panels, and more.
  • Information Handling: Manage sensitive and personal information following appropriate policies and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Collaborate with business support staff to handle customer issues and service requests efficiently.
  • Administration: Organise meeting logistics, circulate agendas, and collate necessary reports and documents from various professionals.
  • Minute Taking: Attend specialist meetings, accurately summarising and recording discussions and decisions to a standard suitable for court use if necessary.
  • Follow-up Tasks: Complete all necessary follow-up administration, including legal notifications.


Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Listening and Judgment: Exceptional listening skills and the ability to discern key issues for accurate and concise minute-taking.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills for liaising with professionals and non-professionals alike.
  • Experience: Previous experience taking minutes at complex, multi-agency meetings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant computer systems and a solid understanding of business support tasks.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Office Environment: Proven ability to work in an office setting, meeting targets, and deadlines consistently.
  • Process Improvement: Capability to assist in reviewing and improving business processes.
