Are you an experienced IT professional looking to take full ownership of an internal IT environment? My client, a well-established food production company in Edinburgh, is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to manage and maintain their on-site infrastructure. This is a sole IT role on-site, where you'll handle 2nd and 3rd line issues, oversee business-as-usual operations, and lead IT projects, while a Managed Service Provider (MSP) supports 1st line tickets remotely. Senior IT EngineerEdinburgh/Onsite£35,000 - £42,000

Daily Duties:

  • Managing on-site infrastructure, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Handling 2nd and 3rd line escalations, working on more complex technical issues.
  • Leading IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and network improvements.
  • Collaborating with external MSPs for 1st line ticket resolution and escalations.
  • Ensuring cybersecurity best practices and compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintaining IT documentation and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Supporting hardware and software troubleshooting across production and office environments.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance IT efficiency.

Tech Stack:

  • Operating Systems: Windows Server, Windows 10/11.
  • Cloud Services: Microsoft 365, Azure AD.
  • Networking: VLANs, Firewalls, Switches (Cisco, Ubiquiti).
  • Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V.
  • Security & Backups: Veeam, Endpoint Security Solutions.
  • Hardware: Servers, Workstations, Printers, Production IT Equipment.
