Mobile Developer - Android Native

Perm - Edinburgh

50/50 Hybrid

FPSG seeking an experienced Native Android Developer to join an exciting new market entrant. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Android development (Kotlin, Java), focusing on creating responsive and dynamic applications. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience.

As an Android developer your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Building reusable components and libraries following best practices and coding standards.
- Implementing consistent and user-friendly UI/UX in alignment with design systems.
- Collaborating with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to gather requirements and solve technical challenges.
- Writing and executing unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality, bug-free code.
- Participating in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality, security, scalability, and performance.
- Monitoring and optimizing app performance to ensure smooth user interactions and fast load times.

To be successful Android Developer in this role, you'll need experience in:
- Advanced Kotlin and Java, with a strong understanding of Android development principles.
- Working with Android Studio and Android SDK, including activities, fragments, and services.
- Using design systems to create consistent UI/UX across applications.
- Integrating RESTful APIs or GraphQL into Android applications.
- Managing version control workflows, especially with Git.
- Ensuring compatibility across various Android devices and screen sizes.

Please note a flexible hybrid working policy is in place, however attendance in the office and/or on customer site in the greater Edinburgh location is needed, therefore a reasonable commutable distance from Edinburgh City is required.
