The role – IT Service Desk Specialist (Night Shift)

The salary - £40,000 - £45,000

The location – Edinburgh.

This is a night shift role with the expected shift pattern to be 11pm – 8am Monday to Friday.

I’m working with a fantastic organisation as they look to add an IT Service Desk Specialist to join their client-facing team as it continues to grow. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact as part of the service desk team, delivering strong technical support directly to clients remotely via the phone, email and remote access, troubleshooting where possible and escalating to the relevant teams if required.

Your day-to-day:

  • You’ll provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to clients remotely across a range of software and hardware.
  • Record all activity via the organisations ticketing system.
  • Manage accounts and permissions via Active Directory.
  • Multi-task tickets to resolve client issues in a timely manner.
  • Document technical issues and escalate issues to the appropriate teams.

About you:

  • You’ll have experience working within an IT support role demonstrating a good level of technical knowledge and a high level of customer support.
  • Experience troubleshooting a range of software and hardware.
  • Experience using Active Directory, VMware, Intune and Azure AD.
  • Experience troubleshooting Microsoft 365 and administering Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2012 and above.
  • Experience troubleshooting DNS and TCP/IP issues and knowledge of networking fundamentals.
