Role Summary

The System Engineer is responsible for the top-level specification of our phased arrays. This will involve system simulation, algorithm development and specification writing.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities include:

  • Create detailed system requirements based on customer requirements

  • Ensure requirements meet all relevant regulatory requirements

  • Define RF system board layout floorplan and layout strategies

  • Lead RF system integration and debug activity at board level

  • Develop algorithms for control of RF blocks

  • Collaborate with Digital hardware and software team to integrate and validate algorithms

  • Develop test and calibration strategies for sub-assemblies of complete array

Person Specification

Essential

  • Bachelor/Master of Electrical Engineering

  • Knowledge and experience of RF and System Modelling

  • Knowledge and experience creating algorithms to control complex systems

  • Knowledge and experience of System integration, prototyping, measurement and transfer to production

  • Demonstrated ability of working independently with minimal supervision

  • High levels of energy and the ability to work with both commercial and technical employees

  • Have analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience with PCB layout for complex systems

  • Knowledge and experience with link budget calculations

  • Knowledge and experience with Keysight SystemVue

  • PhD or Masters in RF Systems or Communications Theory
