Network Operations Manager (Edinburgh) To £50,000

The job:

Lorien is collaborating alongside a leading telecoms company in their search for their new Network Operations Manager to lead the NOC team and operate within an evolving expanding organisation that has doubled in size over the last year. You will be reporting directly to the Director of Network Engineering, overseeing the network operations, troubleshooting and performance monitoring of the network.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for building accurate dashboards to monitor KPI's and SLA's and involve creating and implementing methods to increase the network's performance.

The role is working through a hybrid model, stationed out of their Edinburgh office (3 days in, 2 days WFH), as well as access to their latest tech, and more, so please look at the finer details below:

What you'll do:

  • Take responsibility for daily faults and incidents within the network to improve efficiency
  • Perform 'Root Cause Analysis' to eliminate the underlying causes of issues.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and produce regular reports to facilitate the evaluation of network performance.
  • Oversee the management of inventory and distribution during fault resolution and maintenance activities.
  • Leverage and improve a cost-effective TechOps framework to monitor network alarms, assess network performance, enhance customer experience, and streamline fault response and resolution processes.
  • Organize annual maintenance needs, schedule site visits, and coordinate fault management and maintenance efforts.
  • Be available outside of regular hours for both scheduled maintenance and unforeseen network incidents, and participate in the 'On Call Rota.' (every ¼ weeks)
  • Handle 2nd and 3rd line technical issues reported by the customer support team.

About you:

  • Background working on 2nd and 3rd Line technical issues.
  • Adept understanding of IT and telecommunications.
  • Previous dealings with colleagues across various levels (from C-level down) and with diverse external stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices concerning the management, control, and oversight of telecommunications infrastructure, customer connections, and related systems.

It would be beneficial to have a background working in an ISP environment, or within a NOC environment.

Package:
