I'm working with a fantastic organisation as they look to add an experienced Network Project Specialist to their team, dedicated to delivering top class network and telephony services across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing network installation projects, through design and planning to implementation and testing. The role is an excellent opportunity for a network specialist with experience in the project space to take on a role with considerable autonomy and contribute to a major Edinburgh-based institution.
Your day-to-day:
- Oversee a number of projects, using strong project management skills to design, plan, cost and schedule the installation of the organisations Network infrastructure, in both existing and new sites.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to provide technical specifications and advice to ensure the delivery of projects.
- Draw up and implement project plans, setting project goals and timelines for completions.
- Choose appropriate industry standards for network and infrastructure installations to meet the needs of the organisation.
- Work directly with end-users to identify solutions for current and future infrastructure and network requirements.
- Manage the procurement of equipment and materials for projects.
- Liaise with contractors through the project lifecycle.
- Manage project budgets to control costs, ensuring all projects come within budget and to financial forecasting.
- Create and maintain records for installed networking infrastructure in order to facilitate ongoing and future maintenance.
About you:
- Strong experience with project management and proven experience working within the project lifecycle.
- You'll have relevant technical experience and knowledge of networking technologies.
- Technical knowledge of communications infrastructure, including data and voice communications, VOIP, wireless technologies and access control technologies.
- Ability to understand and interpret end user requirements, and the ability to translate them into technical designs.
- The ability to identify and troubleshoot the effect of technical problems during a project.
- Experience in stakeholder management.
- Experience of ITIL within IT Service delivery.
- Experience of data centre networking technologies and network automation technologies is desirable.
