IT Support Technician (1st/2nd Line) - Edinburgh - Up to 30K + Bonus

Lorien's client, a leading name in the Life Sciences and MedTech sector with bases across the globe, has asked us to help them in their searches for a IT Support Technician with a background across 1st Line and 2nd Line support to join their team.

This individual will take the reins as the first point of contact for incoming tickets, fulfil a range of support duties for internal users (some of which are detailed below), and enjoy working for an organisation giving something back and improving the lives of people around the world.

An outline of some of the duties involved:

  • Offering first line (and some 2nd line) support to staff across the organisation, and escalating more complex issues to 2nd and 3rd line support where needed
  • Ensuring calls and tickets are prioritised and resolved effectively
  • User creation and admin via Active Directory
  • Building/Imaging machines and supporting laptops / desktops / printers / etc.
  • Installing software and rolling out hardware
  • Continuously upskill as you work, and adhere to agreed standards and best practices

The skills/knowledge they're looking for:

  • A background in IT Support / Service Desk / Helpdesk support, whether you've relatively recently kickstarted your career, or have been a long-term member of a support team already
  • A confident individual, able to work with personnel at any level across the business
  • Knowledge and skills across Active Directory, Office 365, Desktop/Laptop/Printer support and other relevant technologies/areas
