HGV Mechanic/Plant Fitter

First Achieve's Engineering Department are excited to represent a well-established company based in Edinburgh, currently seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Mechanic/Plant Fitter. The Role:

As an HGV Mechanic/Plant Fitter, you'll be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of HGV vehicles, other company vehicles, and various plant and machinery. You'll play a key role in ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, company vehicles, and plant machinery.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults within the fleet.
  • Ensure vehicle inspections and maintenance meet required standards and deadlines.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance work completed.

What We're Looking For:

  • HGV Licence (essential).
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Experience with vehicle inspection standards and scheduled maintenance requirements.
  • A proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
