Are you an experienced Medical Underwriter looking to make an impact in a leading financial institution? Join our team and play a crucial role in delivering exceptional underwriting services within one of the UK's most trusted Life, Pensions, and Investments providers.

About the Role:

As part of our Underwriting team, you'll be at the forefront of assessing life and disability applications, reviewing medical reports, and making critical decisions to support business growth. You'll work closely with customers, reinsurers, and internal teams to ensure the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely risk assessment of life and disability applications.
  • Ensure robust underwriting decisions and request necessary evidence.
  • Collaborate with reinsurers, Chief Medical Officer, and other professionals when required.
  • Provide technical support and mentor less experienced colleagues.
  • Focus on delivering fair outcomes, keeping the customer at the heart of every decision.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in life and disability medical underwriting.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate decisions clearly to customers and advisors.
  • An understanding of medical terminology and how to interpret medical reports.
  • Excellent analytical and relationship management skills.
