Head of Procurement

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow

Salary Range: 81,000 - 95,000 + excellent benefits package

The Scottish National Investment Bank is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Procurement to lead the Bank's procurement function. As a key leader within the Finance & Operations team, you will ensure that procurement activities align with public procurement legislation and deliver value for money across all Bank operations. In this critical role, you'll shape procurement strategies that support the Bank's mission of creating lasting impact across Scotland.

You will lead all aspects of the procurement process, ensuring collaboration, transparency, and effective contract management. Your work will be instrumental in embedding governance, compliance, and supplier management while promoting third-party risk management throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Bank's procurement function.
  • Ensure compliance with public procurement legislation, delivering value for money and supporting the Bank's missions.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior leadership, promoting best practices in procurement and contract management.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, negotiating contractual terms and driving supplier performance.
  • Embed consistent contract management practices across the Bank, ensuring accurate reporting on procurement activities.
  • Contribute to shaping the Bank's culture by sharing knowledge and promoting procurement best practices.

About You:

  • Proven expertise in leading end-to-end procurement processes, with knowledge of public procurement and EU legislation.
  • Experience in supplier and contract management, including negotiating contractual terms and managing key performance indicators.
  • Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or holding an equivalent degree.
  • Proven communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A collaborative approach, with experience in a fast-paced environment, working flexibly to meet organisational needs.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion across procurement activities and supply chains.
