Banking & Finance Associate/Senior Associate Solicitor (2-7PQE)

A leading international law firm is seeking a banking & finance associate/senior associate with 2-7 years' PQE in general banking work to join the team in Edinburgh. 

The successful candidate will engage in a variety of finance transactions, representing both lenders and borrowers. This is a key role within a dynamic team, offering opportunities for professional growth and involvement in the firm’s broader business development strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Finance Transactions:
    • Handle all aspects of lending transactions from start to finish
    • Work with a diverse client base, including banks, insurers, debt funds, and large corporations in Scotland
  • Business Development:
    • Participate in marketing efforts to attract new clients
    • Support the firm’s growth through involvement in strategic business development initiatives

Requirements

  • 2-7 years' PQE in general banking, with experience managing a wide variety of transactions
  • Strong background in corporate banking law, ideally gained within private practice
  • Qualified in Scots law and/or English law
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal matters clearly
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, with a focus on sound judgment and initiative
  • Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating a client-focused approach
  • Adaptability to work both independently and as part of a team, with flexibility in managing changing priorities
