Service Care Solutions are seeking a qualified Solicitor to join the COPFS in Scotland on a contract basis. This exciting opportunity involves working closely with the Scottish Government to facilitate a thorough and transparent response to the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) investigation into certain COVID-19 related deaths. The ideal candidate will bring their civil litigation experience—preferably within the public sector or government litigation—to enhance our legal team’s capabilities.Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team members to support the implementation of a robust and effective strategy for responding to the COPFS investigation.
  • Provide proactive support to client divisions throughout the investigation process.
  • Analyze documentary and other relevant materials to offer informed legal advice.
  • Conduct interviews and take witness statements accurately and efficiently.
  • Draft precise and comprehensive written materials to support ongoing legal activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A valid Solicitor qualification with experience in civil litigation, particularly within the public sector or government environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information and present it clearly.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ensuring clarity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • A strong team player with a proactive approach to supporting clients and colleagues alike.
Contract Details:
  • Duration: 11 months (March 2026) 
  • Flexible rate based on candidate qualifications and experience.
