Service Care solutions are searching for a Solicitor to work on behalf of the Scottish Government legal Directorate - Social Security Appeals Branch. This is a contract position that offers the unique opportunity to provide vital legal advice on matters concerning social security, contributing positively to the lives of individuals navigating complex systems. This role would be until March 26 with the possibility of a further 11 month extension. They work on a hybrid basis and allow the candidate to set a negotiable day rate. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality legal advice on social security matters.
  • Engage in public law litigation and develop skills necessary for this area.
  • Manage information effectively, interpret data, and make sound decisions.
  • Offer clear and concise legal advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • Organise and manage your workload flexibly, addressing and prioritising competing demands.
Qualifications:
  • A Scottish qualified Solicitor, currently has a PC through the Law society 
  • A keen understanding of public law or a willingness to develop expertise in this area.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to manage your workload and respond to emerging priorities efficiently.
Contract Details:
  • Employment Type: Contract
  • Duration: Approximately 12 months (march 26), with the possibility of an 11-month extension.
  • Work Environment: Hybrid arrangement with flexible salary options.
